INSTALLATION AND TRACKING OF DIGITAL SATELLITES PART3

Helo guys.... Welcome to the part3 of this topic!! Today we are going to talk about satellite decoders/receivers and channel encryptions....... In the previous post we mentioned about devices that converts the signal being recovered, reflected and collected by the dish into a form that the decoder/receiver can interprete.....remember right?!! They are called "optical reflectors" that is your LNB/LNBF..... Hope you now recall?.. Now the LNBs/LNBFs sends the signals into the satellite receiver/decoder which in turn converts the signals into whatever channels and views we see on the television..... Now like i mentioned earlier, some channels are paid channels while others are free..... The free channels often comes from the free-to-air(FTA) companies and there are hundreds of such channels available for you to watch for absolutely free... The paid channels on the other hand comes from the paid companies like DSTV,MY-TV....etc. They have great collections of channels, but like every good thing,it comes with a price...these paid companies often use certain codes to encrypt(lock) their channels and there many forms of satellite channel encryptions such as IRDETO,NAGRAVISION1-3....the types of encryption varies from company to company.. Thus to enjoy these encrypted channels you are required to buy the company's smart card that you can recharge with certain monthly subscriptions to enable you watch their channel packages.... However to control and monitor the operations of the smart card, an exclusive serial number is often assigned to each smart card.... So in real sense, when you recharge their smart card you are actually buying a set of de-encryption(unlocking) keys that will be loaded into your exclusive smart card number so that when you slot in the card into your decoder, the unlocking keys will be loaded through your card number into your decoder, thus de-encrypting and unlocking all their channels for your viewing pleasure.... The duration that the channels will remain unlocked will depend on the type and duration of the subscription that you have made.... Once the duration elapses then their channels will be encrypted again on your decoder until you subscribe again..... So you actually pay as you watch...... Now, that a channel is free to watch or pay as you watch is not the only criteria that you are actually going to be able to watch such channel, your brand and specifications of satellite decoder/receiver is also very vital. Different channels(both paid and free-to-air) are broadcasted in different formats such as HD,MPEG4,MPEG2,DVSB,DVSB2.....etc. Thus to be be able to watch a channel,in addition to the criteria of pay as you watch and free-to-air,your decoder/receiver must also support the broadcast format of the channels you wish to watch.... Currently most satellite networks/companies are now broadcasting channels in HD or MPEG4 formats.... There are many manufacturers and brands of satellite decoders available today that supports almost all channel formats...... However be careful with certain decoder brands because there are fake decoders brands flooding the global markets today that was not actually manufactured by the name of the company printed on them..... Avoid fake decoders... they are bad....you are likely going to face the risk of frying your fake decoder during software updates....so be WARNED!!!.... For me i would recommend STRONG SRT DECODERS just visit http://www.strong-technologies.com to choose a brand that best suits you..... REMEMBER to ALWAYS check with the manufacturer's websites to verify a brand of decoder before purchasing it.... If you don't know the manufacturer's website, use search engines like http://www.google.com to find it...... Make a wise choice base on your pocket and earnings.
